New Year, New Room, New Wall Candy

Published by Bucks Country Gardens in Home Decor

This time of year always puts me in the mood to redecorate a room in my house. Most often, I am just getting back from a buying trip for the garden center and am pumped about all of the new products arriving soon to stock our shelves. The store gets a re-vamping: a fresh coat of paint, cabinets moved about and a change up in the store layout. Change is good; this works at my house as well.

Recently, I decided to work on my family room. My husband and I painted the walls and purchased new furniture. I am one of those people who loves color everywhere except in my home. I can’t commit. I like to use neutral colors throughout my home, hence we now have a new taupe sofa and loveseat. The neutral furniture color allows me to use any accent color with it. Out in the design world, bright colors are everywhere: oranges and greens and purples, oh my! My plan is to have bright pillows that I can change seasonally. Along with my new furniture purchase was an unexpected television stand. And of course, my husband decided we needed a new flat screen TV to go along with it; somehow the old TV did not work well with it anymore. Men! This changed the whole dynamics of the room. We removed the original TV cabinet which was tall and hid the all of the electronics. Now there is a lot of exposed, empty wall space. What to do? Time to find some new and exciting artwork or maybe even a clock, so we have a sense of time as we do spend a lot of time in our family room. This room also has a door leading to the backyard, so I am in search of a mirror to add a bit of reflective light and dimension to this space.

I’m in luck because a lot of the great finds on my buying trip for the store are fantastic wall art and awesome mirrors. There are pictures with flowers that would work great, birds that I love and of course, I have my eye on a certain clock. The good news is that new things are arriving daily and with each box being opened I find something wonderful to fill the new space at home. And no worries, there are plenty of fun, classic, whimsical and traditional artwork for our customers as well! What’s most fun about wall art is that you can move it around from room to room to instantly change the look of your spaces. A couple of new throw pillows and a floor plant and my room is complete. How about you?
